Dr Caroline Michie is a consultant medical oncologist in breast cancer, honorary clinical senior lecturer and NRS research clinician at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre & University of Edinburgh

Dr Michie is a consultant medical oncologist in breast cancer, honorary clinical senior lecturer and NRS research clinician at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre & University of Edinburgh. Following specialist training in Edinburgh, she was a clinical research fellow in early phase clinical trials at the Drug Development Unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital, before returning home to Scotland as a consultant in 2012. She is principal investigator on multiple breast cancer studies and is the lead clinician for the Edinburgh breast cancer clinical trial team, managing their trial portfolio.

Dr Michie is also the Lead Clinician for SACT for NHS Fife, an editorial board member for European Medical Journal – Cancer, the Scotland representative for the ACP Executive Committee, founding faculty and clinical lead for the Cancer Biology and Precision Oncology MSc course at the University of Edinburgh and a Melville Trust Scientific Advisory Committee member. She has been an author on several peer-reviewed papers and many presentations at major UK and international oncology meetings. Finally, she was a RCP tutor for an oncology training programme in East Africa in recent years. Out of work, she is married with two children and enjoys travelling, skiing, tennis and good food.
