Professor Mark Beresford is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist and Clinical Lead at the Royal United Hospital Bath and has a Visiting Chair at the University of Bath. He specialises in the treatment of breast and urological cancers. He is a graduate of both Cambridge and Oxford Universities and undertook his specialist oncology training in London (UCLH, Charing Cross and Mount Vernon Hospitals).
He has a DM from Oxford University for research into the assessment of response to chemotherapy using functional imaging techniques. He is author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications. Professor Beresford is Chief Investigator on numerous national and international clinical trials.
He is a member of the NCRI Breast Cancer Advanced Disease subgroup, has advised NICE at scoping meetings and Technology Appraisals and is a Committee Member of the British Uro-oncology Group (BUG), Action on Bladder Cancer and Cancer Research at Bath. He is co-founder and co-chair of the UK Breast Cancer Group (UKBCG).
He chairs the West of England Breast Cancer Site Specific Group and is Vice-Chair of the CRUK population studies funding panel.
